What’s the role? 

Our client is looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer who is passionate about managing, monitoring, maintaining, and improving our cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

You will work on projects with our client’s business and supporting functions. You will be involved in architecture and the building cloud-based solutions using a wide range of technologies and the full range of AWS and Azure services, working alongside people with a diverse range of skillsets.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop cloud architecture and solutions optimised for Azure and AWS to meet project requirements
  • Develop scripts to automate the deployment of Azure and AWS architecture and solutions
  • Create and maintain continuous Cloud platform monitoring and respond to alerts
  • Use raw datasets to produce valuable insights for projects by identifying and scripting the required processing and using BI tools to present it in a clear, actionable manner
  • Add value to propositions by identifying areas to go ‘above and beyond’ the project requirements, or by maximising the potential of technologies already being used
  • Setup and manage backups, patching, upgrades of different technologies and AV/malware software across the environments
  • Setup Security on AWS and Azure environments to ensure the infrastructure is aligned with Cloud Security Standards
  • Manage and fix Security vulnerabilities identified on the AWS and Azure Cloud platform
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge within Deloitte cloud teams

Essential skills & experience required:

  • Ability to build enterprise solutions using AWS and Azure
  • Experience of automation and provisioning approaches, using tools such as CloudFormation, PowerShell, Terraform, etc
  • In¬ depth knowledge of configuring and managing Linux and Windows environments
  • Power BI
  • Knowledge of agile software development tools and methodologies
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly and transfer knowledge to other team members
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communicator and decision maker
  • Occasional travel to Deloitte sites
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing enterprise level cloud platforms
