What’s the role?

We are currently recruiting for a senior finance manager to join an exciting project with HSBC Bank in Kowloon. The candidate will support the implementation of a new system accounting for commercial banking product, due to go live in March 2022.

Your day-to-day activities

  • Assisting the finance project lead to prepare and review accounting model and schema in accordance with accounting rules and standards on banking products.
  • Managing all stages in project life cycle from project initialisation to project closure.
  • The co-ordination and communication with project team and finance users.
  • Explaining the user requirements to project and IT team for development or new features.
  • Acting as facilitator to follow up with impacted team members to ascertain that all issues are addressed, and necessary clearance are obtained.
  • Validating testing result by performing detailed checking in accounting entries and reports and providing UAT sign-off on behalf of finance users.
  • Ensuring consistency of finance systems and reports, in adherence to the global finance standards and policies.
  • Preparing meeting presentation and project updates regularly to senior management and finance users.
  • Building and maintaining a trusted relationship with all project stakeholders across different functions, finance users, IT and FTP teams.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Five to seven years of financial reporting experience.
  • Strong experience and background in commercial banking products.
  • A degree in finance, accounting, and business administration or related disciplines with working experience in banking industry.
  • Strong project management experience and with product knowledge in private banking business is preferred.
  • Extensive financial analytics and project planning experience gained from international banks and financial institutions.
  • To understand the project objective and ensure all user requirements are properly captured.
  • The proven ability to deliver high quality analysis, recommend solutions, challenge issues with a critical mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and business acumen.
