What’s the role?
Our client, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, is seeking a Private Equity & Real Estate Senior Fund Accountant to prepare / review / comment on fund financial statements, review and approve fund accounting journal entries, prepare capital call and distribution calculations, and correspond with investors on ad hoc requests. The successful Senior Fund Accountant will be highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

Tell Me More:
- Location: In Office Mon-Thurs in NYC; Fridays WFH
- Hourly Rate: $80-$100/hr, DOE (which if worked full time for a year is the salary equivalent of $166,400-$208,000/yr) **this role is to be paid based on hours worked**
- Work Pattern: Monday-Friday, standard business hours
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Length: 6 months – 1 year with opportunity to extend/permanent hire
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Prepare and Review monthly estimate and final fund NAVs
- Analyze fund performance and investor allocations
- Calculate management and complex incentive fees
- Calculate and pay management and performance fees in accordance with the funds’ governing documents
- Perform NAV reconciliations with various third party administrators
- Prepare hedge base analysis for non-USD currency classes
- Generate custom client reporting, including ROR and IRR calculations
- Process client capital activity and related payments
- Review client notices generated by third party administrators
- Assist team members in responding to client and internal requests
- Provide monthly revenue reporting
- Contribute to the design and testing of systems enhancements
- Assist in the setup and launch of new products
- Liaise with various Finance and Operations teams including Middle Office, Pricing, Financial Reporting, Management Reporting, Legal and Compliance
What knowledge, skills, and experience we need:
- BS (or above) in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ years of fund, audit, or administrator experience / 6+ years of public or private accounting experience
- Knowledge of fund of funds, private equity and/or hedge funds
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong understanding of accounting ledger data
- Accounting systems experience strongly preferred (Investran)
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Able to multi-task and effectively manage their own time
- A collaborative team player, always willing to assist colleagues
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in private equity and / or hedge funds and / or audit preferred
- Knowledge of SEC / relevant regulatory filings for investment funds preferred
- CPA preferred
