What’s the role? 

Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Onboarding Analyst to join their Compliance team to help support their Know Your Business (KYB) and customer onboarding processes, on a part time basis.

You will play an essential role as the first line of defence, working directly with prospective merchants to ensure they provide the full KYB information needed to quickly risk-assess and onboard them in compliance with regulations and the client own policies.

Responsibilities: 

  • Working with deal owners in the Sales team to qualify merchant leads to ensure they are within our risk appetite.
  • Corresponding directly with merchants to gather the required KYB information in a consistent format.
  • Corresponding directly with merchants in higher risk sectors (e.g., financial services) to gather and pre-verify Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) information on policies and processes.
  • Managing cases within the clients remote onboarding tool, including clearing and investigating referrals and sending information requests to merchants
  • Performing the initial risk-assessment and screening of merchants according to internal templates and policies
  • Proactively following up on missing, inadequate, or incomplete information and highlighting any concerns to the Sales team and/or Compliance as appropriate

Essential skills & experience required:

  • Carrying out Know Your Business (KYB) or equivalent processes at a regulated firm
  • Experience managing customer onboarding processes.
  • High level knowledge of AML rules and regulations in the UK
  • Experience using automated onboarding and online risk screening solutions.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, such as customer support or customer success roles, is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to learn and carry out processes.
  • Self-starter able to manage own workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility
