What’s the role?

Our client is seeking Trainers for a nationwide programme to ‘Train the Trainer’ and provide face to face and online training for supervisors on client sites. The ‘Train the Trainer’ role will involve travelling to sites across the UK (inside COVID restricted tier) to provide training delivery sessions. This training will support and enable supervisors to deliver training sessions themselves at their dedicated site.

Location: Online and at client sites within your tier (Travel expenses will not be paid in addition to day rate)

Rate: £430-475* (Dependent on experience)

Duration: 3-6 months initially

*This role falls inside IR35 and successful candidates will need to work through an approved Employment/Umbrella company


Your day-to-day activities will include

  • Training supervisors on how to deliver their own training sessions
  • Assessing confidence and competence of personnel carrying out the role of supervisor/trainer
  • Observing trainers delivering a training session for potential candidates and assessing trainer’s performance against each of the core competencies
  • Observing trainee trainer demonstrating process and providing guidance and support to trainees
  • Observing trainee trainer whilst they carry out test without guidance
  • Signing off the trainee trainer when satisfied with their confidence and competence to carry out required L&D procedures. Postponing or declining sign off as required
  • Completing full end-to-end training on process operations and procedures (Includes online training, face to face assessment, etc.)
  • Verifying that the trainee trainer is in appropriate health through discussion and observation
  • Assessing whether trainee trainer is wearing appropriate clothing
  • Must carry out training and sign-off of the trainee trainer for the following aspects: set-up of site, greeting, check on subject health, patient conversation, site operations, test kit procedure, infection prevention, PPE donning and doffing, assisted procedure, culture and going home procedure


What knowledge, skills & experience we need

  • Registered to the Nursing and Midwifery Council in Band 5 or 6 Equivalent
  • Certificate in Training Practice (CTP) or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience delivering training assignments, both online and face-to-face
  • Experience training varying public audiences and environments
  • Effective communication skills in public facing settings (written and verbal), and can demonstrate ability to adapt to differing demographic groups
  • Proven ability to effectively assess and report on the ability and competency of trainees
  • Proven ability to adapt training/communication for new devices and settings (Schools, universities, social care, private business, local authorities, etc.)
  • Must be competent in the use of IT equipment (Smartphone and laptop technology) and applications for use in both e-learning and team communication
  • Will be required to travel and may be required to stay overnight, or to be on-site at these locations for up to one week at a time
  • Proven ability to have an oversight of Clinical Governance
  • Experience in managing compliance against regulatory guidelines preferred
  • Managerial experience within L&D or a healthcare setting would be advantageous
