Momenta is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Financial Integrity Hub (FIH) Financial Crime Fighter 2025 ‘Excellence in Innovation’ Award, recognising its sector-leading contribution to strengthening Australia’s financial crime prevention capability.
The annual FIH Awards celebrate organisations and individuals making exceptional contributions to the integrity of the financial system, hosted by KPMG. Judged by an independent panel of senior industry figures, the awards highlight excellence across leadership, professional impact and innovation in financial crime prevention.
Excellence in innovation: Why Momenta won
Since launching in Australia in 2016, Momenta has become one of the most influential forces in uplifting the country’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) environment. The company has:
- Deployed over 5,000+ risk, compliance and financial crime specialists across Australian institutions.
- Built the largest single-company financial-crime response workforce in Australian history, deploying 1,500+ specialists over a four-year period.
- Introduced more than 1,000 new professionals into AML/CTF roles, helping graduates and early-career talent enter and progress through the financial crime sector.
- Pioneered industrial-scale workforce models, including delivering 450 financial-crime specialists to a major bank within eight weeks, while designing a full operating model including procedures, QA, governance, training, KPIs and SLAs, all within just five weeks.
- Achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification, enabling a uniquely robust and auditable operating structure.
These innovations have strengthened AML/CTF capability across banks, insurers, gaming organisations, superannuation funds and soon Designated Non-Financial Business or Professions (DNFBPs) preparing for Tranche 2.
Momenta has also integrated hundreds of internationally trained financial crime professionals into the Australian regulatory landscape, bringing expertise from the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East to improve domestic practice and uplift investigative sophistication.
With 95% client re-engagement and deep partnerships with major banks and consultancies, Momenta has consistently delivered scale, quality and capability when it matters most.
Momenta’s mission built on strengthening people:
Innovation isn’t always about technology; it’s about creating capability, guiding people into meaningful careers and standing alongside institutions when they face their most demanding regulatory challenges.
Since 2016, Momenta’s mission has been simple but transformative: strengthen the quality and calibre of the people doing the work, in turn strengthening the integrity of the entire AML/CTF ecosystem.
Momenta credits its success to the over 5,000 individuals who have trusted the company with their careers, as well as the clients who have partnered with Momenta on some of the nation’s most complex financial crime challenges.
Committed to Australia’s future financial integrity
As Australia’s AML/CTF landscape continues to evolve with regulatory reform and Tranche 2 on the horizon, Momenta remains committed to building and sustaining the human infrastructure that underpins national financial integrity.
We’re incredibly proud to contribute to the capability Australia needs today and into the future. This award reflects the hard work and dedication of the Momenta team, who make the impossible look routine.
This award also reinforces Momenta’s position as an important partner in safeguarding Australia’s financial integrity. As the sector prepares for its next era of AML/CTF reform, Momenta will continue to innovate, scale capability where it’s needed most and invest in the people who power the fight against financial crime. Our commitment remains clear: to build a stronger, more resilient and future-ready financial crime workforce for Australia.
