Life after PPI, why contractors should still choose PPI

As many will be aware, the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) deadline is looming, with the Financial Conduct Authority stipulating that no new claims over mis-selling can be made after 29th August.

The financial services sector will breathe a huge sigh of relief at the prospect of finally being able to draw a line under a remediation programme that is expected to cost the sector an estimated £48.7 billion – but contractors that have been engaged throughout the process will undoubtedly now be concerned for their future.

Opportunities will not end

However, opportunities will not end with the PPI deadline date – far from it. Indeed, today’s PPI contractors will still be very much in demand after August thanks to their financial and legal expertise continuing to be valued.

Indeed, there will contracts in place at least until December 2019, with PPI roles still available including the likes of team leaders, case handlers, and quality checkers.

An even greater asset

It’s not about sitting tight at this point either. Your work thus far will have ensured that you have honed lots of transferable, not to mention desirable, skills – and the opportunity to enhance those further on a PPI contract right up until the end of the year will make you an even greater asset.

You’ll be a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail, capable of working independently and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll be experienced in carrying out a detailed, end-to-end case review process, analysing customer and provider responses, and progressing cases, while supporting the resolution of complex regulatory risks and issues in line with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) objectives.

Furthermore, you’ll be capable of maintaining an internal claims management records system, and fundamentally, keeping the customer at the forefront of all activities.

A seamless transition

If you’re on a PPI contract after August and working with Momenta, then don’t fret – we will endeavour on your behalf to provide a seamless transition to another project.

Our resourcers will always keep you up-to-date on new project opportunities – after all, there may be ready-made openings allowing you to transfer smoothly – and they can update your vetting if required, while being there to help you through the transition phase once PPI comes to an end at the close of the year.
