Our client is seeking a Horizon Scanning Lead to play a pivotal role in providing second line compliance support to the organisation. In this role, you will be aligning regulatory and compliance changes with business objectives whilst also handling generalist responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be a versatile compliance professional, with expertise in Horizon Scanning, a strategic mindset and the ability to build effective relationships.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Working closely with other internal teams, conducting analysis of customer demand and regulatory changes, and supporting the implementation of any required or recommended changes to ensure the business continues to deliver good customer outcomes
- Input into regulatory documentation and/or outputs and operational procedures from a technical point of view ensuring they are clear, accurate and not misleading
- Analyse any developing pensions and retail investments legislations and oversee any major changes and ensuring ongoing compliance
- Engage and support our colleagues with the management and delivery of systems, regulatory and legislative change for the benefit of our customers and business growth opportunities
- Represent the Group at relevant Industry bodies, relevant panels, working groups which enable you to support the development of the Group brand as a key contributor in technical discussions
- Recommend training, conferences and seminars to wider team from which they would benefit based on changes occurring
- You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by management
What Knowledge, Skills & Experience We Need
- Previous experience in financial services in a second line back-office compliance role
- Proven track record in establishing credible relationships with leadership teams and managing complex compliance issues
- Working knowledge of and experiencing in using the FCA Handbook
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex compliance issues to non-compliance professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- The ability to present to a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong IT skills (Particularly Excel and other MS office applications
