Recruitment Phishing Scams

Recruitment phishing scams

There has been a rise in the number of recruitment phishing scams, where fake jobs are advertised or people imitate recruitment companies in an effort to obtain personal or financial information from applicants.

How to spot a potential recruitment phishing scam

  • The job advert states a highly attractive salary or offers perks that sound too good to be true.
  • The communications are poorly written. Watch out for the spelling or grammar in adverts, job descriptions or emails.
  • Emails being sent via a personal email address, calls made from a mobile number on, or contact via messaging or chat service platforms like WhatsApp.
  • You have been offered a role immediately without an interview, or discussion about your experience.
  • Someone has requested money to be transferred or has asked for your personal, credit card, online bank information.

Momenta will never contact you from a personal generic email address such as Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo. We will not request personal or financial information via text or Whatsapp.  Momenta will only ever ask you to add your personal information\supporting documentation to be uploaded to the Momenta People portal.
