Momenta and The Big Issue partner to offer employability hotline

Momenta bolsters The Big Issue’s RORA (Ride Out The Recession Alliance) through offering its staff to coach jobseekers back into employment

Individuals who may have lost their jobs during the pandemic, and those seeking employability coaching, will be able to call a dedicated and free hotline where a recruitment professional will provide support, a CV-review and re-employability coaching.

Momenta Group, the London-based contingent resourcing firm, has partnered with The Big Issue’s “RORA” (Ride Out Recession Alliance) to provide the free service. RORA develops and implements practical steps and solutions to prevent families losing their homes, and help people remain in employment.

Founder of Momenta Group, Richard Stevens, commented: “Every industry needs to play its role in getting the economy going, so we, as recruiters, will use our knowledge, expertise, empathy and instinct to support jobseekers back into the workplace.  We know there are many unemployed due to the pandemic who have not been in the employment market for years, and will need a refresh, review and a friendly coach to support their journey back to work.  We look forward to playing our role in The Big Issue’s relevant and impactful RORA initiative.”

RORA was formed by Lord Bird and The Big Issue in the summer of 2020.  It is a major national initiative which is supported by partners including Deloitte, Movement to Work, Nationwide Building Society and The National Skills Agency – and seeks to help the UK Government to implement preventative measures tackling homelessness and unemployment caused by the pandemic.

Lord John Bird, founder of The Big Issue, said: “We are delighted Momenta bring their support and expertise to address employability coaching.  Keeping people in work over this time is the key to reducing poverty, therefore equipping individuals with the skills and confidence to aim for new employment is fundamental right now.

Practically, Momenta’s hotline team will address everything from CVs, cover letter composition, interview techniques, skills-matching, coaching and presentation – all basic but crucial steps to securing employment.

Based in the UK with offices in Australia, India and the USA, Momenta provides contingent workforce in sectors ranging from retail financial services, technology, legal, and training and development.
