What’s the role? 

We are seeking an experienced Manager to oversee all aspects of a collections department. Recent proven experience in a similar role – dealing with secured and unsecured lending products is required.  Strong leadership, communications and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Responsibilities: 

  • Overseeing all aspects of the collections department.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise collections processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead a team of collections specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure targets are met.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, operations, and technology to streamline processes and enhance collections capabilities.
  • Conduct regular assessments of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting project status, trends, and recommendations for action.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in collections management, incorporating new methodologies and technologies as appropriate.

Essential skills & experience required:

  • Proven experience in collections management within the financial services sector within last 12 months.
  • Reporting to Senior Operations Manager
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving objectives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements governing collections activities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
